Barry Smith struggled with addiction for many years. He came to the brink of losing his wife and kids to his addiction.
One night, he stole his daughter’s “piggy bank” to buy drugs… but afterwards, as he sat in the drive of his house, he broke down and cried out to God.
Shortly after, Barry began attending church and surrendered his life fully to Christ. God restored his family, and Barry pioneered several recovery ministries in Taney County.
Barry has served as the worship leader at CityReach Springfield under the ministry of John Alarid, and is the lead singer of a local Christian band.
He and his wife are called to start a life-giving church and Hope Homes in Branson, Missouri. They have hopes to reach out to broken families in the area and start recovery homes to see God restore many lives and families.
